Botox
isn't the unique chance you got to loose some years off your face,
though. The cosmetic market abounds of alternatives, among which
the already famous StriVectin SD and the sensitive skin version,
StriVectin SD Eye Cream. Beyond aggressive publicity on both sides,
anti- wrinkle creams and Botox shots show their true results when
it comes to officially accepted clinical trials.
Botox injections were submitted to a three phase clinical trial
in the U.S. and Canada conducted by CBER and a Sponsor in 2002.
Results revealed diminished glabellar lines for up to 4 months in
approximately 80% of the subjects. Further studies conducted by
the same committee revealed, however, in 49% of the subjects the
presence of one sort or another of adverse reactions, when Botox
is repeatedly injected. Moreover, Botox studies weren't developed
on other than Caucasian subjects and, therefore, a conclusion about
its "colorblindness" cannot be issued.
Clinical studies conducted on StriVectin SD, on the other hand,
show significant improvements in 93% of the subjects. StriVectin
SD proved to stimulate collagen I and collagen IV synthesis by 117%,
respectively 357%, while the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
is diminished by 68%. StriVectin SD also reduces dark circles under
the eyes and age spots, giving skin a brighter, softer and younger
outlook. StriVectin SD was tested on people with all kinds of skin
color and proved to maintain its efficacy. Clinical trials also
revealed StriVectin as a safe and effective anti- wrinkle improving
the overall complexion.
